Your course is split into two modules – the first with 10 lessons and the second with six lessons.
The first module introduces you to Gambling Addiction Counselling. You’ll learn about:
• types of gambler, gambling and gambling behaviour.
• addiction and what makes a compulsive gambler
• male verses female gamblers
• underage and senior citizen gamblers
• online gamblers
• gambling and the workplace
The second module looks at working with the client. You cover:
• how to identify gambling addiction
• how problem gambling affects the family
• confronting a gambling problem and responsible gambling
• devising a plan to overcome the addiction
• maintaining a positive lifestyle and helping your client regain financial control.

Your Diploma
On the successful completion of your course you will be awarded a Diploma in Gambling Addiction Counselling from STT and The International Centre for Vocational Excellence.
Certificate of Continuing Professional Development in Gambling Addicition Counselling
You will also be eligible to receive a Certificate of Continuing Professional Development issued by the Institute of Counselling. This Certificate is in addition to the Diploma in Gambling Addiction Counselling and will be sent free, on request.
Follow-on Training
The course suggests CBT as a useful tool to help gambling adults. So,once you have completed this course you will probably be interested in studying the Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for a more in-depth understanding of CBT techniques.
